{My Hope is Found}

I know I haven't written in forever. My life has been crazy busy, but I was on Adam Young of Owl City's Blog. He did a cover of "My Hope is Found" one night, and put it up on his blog. {You can listen to it by clicking on the link above} It is amazing. The lyrics to this song are quite powerful. There is something about this song that is so moving.

In Christ alone, my hope is found

He is my light, my strength, my song
This cornerstone, this solid ground

Firm through the fiercest drought and storm

What heights of love, what depths of peace

When fears are stilled, when strivings cease

My comforter, my all-in-all

Here in the love of Christ I stand

There in the ground His body lay

Light of the world by darkness slain

Then bursting forth in glorious day

Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory

Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me

For I am His and He is mine

Bought with the precious blood of Christ

No guilt in life, no fear in death

This is the power of Christ in me

From life’s first cry to final breath

Jesus commands my destiny

No power of hell, no scheme of man

Can ever pluck me from His hand

Till He returns or calls me home

Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand

Just read through the lyrics and really think about their meaning. In Christ alone our hope is found. It isn't in our job, our family, in the economy or in the government. It is only truly found in Christ. He is firm though the fiercest drought and storm. No matter what you are going through he is never wavering. Bursting forth is glorious day, up from the grave he rose again! Jesus is alive! He stands in victory. Sin's curse has lost it's grip on me. Just think about that! We don't have to live in bondage to sin anymore. You and I are bought with the precious blood of Christ. How awesome is that? You were bought with a price. A price so precious we could never pay it back. God loved us so much that He gave His one and only Son...for us. From life's first cry to final breath Jesus is in control. We don't have to worry about anything. He has the final say over all. We don't have to fear death or man, because they can never pluck us from His hand. Nothing can ever take us away from Him. I know at times I struggle with fear of the unknown. So how awesome is it to know that He holds us in the palm of His hand? Pretty awesome isn't it?
Till he returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand.

In Him,
~Tressa
